I am leaning towards grandfather, so just wondering if "athair mór" is ok. Had 2 people confirm this but would like some more.

Thanks for your time guys :aingeal:

What do you mean by this? Is it a particular type of strength? If you explain the context, people may have other appropriate words for you.

very sorry if i offended, not my intention. But thank you, love it anyways :)
Thanks
It takes a lot more than that to offend around here - they are a hard nosed bunch!!

I think the poster was looking for something that sounded more feminine, at least to an English speaker (in the old days, one might have said that "feminine sounding" meant something like "softer sounding", but that would be politically incorrect these days). Obviously, that's always going to be a totally subjective judgment, colored heavily by one's own native language. I only mentioned the grammatical femininity in my post as a "by the way" kind of thing. I was virtually certain that wasn't what was meant.

if you want to be politically correct, say "nicer sounding" instead :darklaugh: Then you're sure the feminists won't complain
