Hey all, Listening to this performance of Anach Cuain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y30sWVkg6OU

Both "síl" at 1m5s and "bí" at 1m52 seem to be sung with something like an "oo" vowel. I've never come across and can't find reference to such a variation. Are there dialects that pronounce "í" like that, or is it a song thing? Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Deas

Full verse…
Ma fhaighimse sláinte is fada a bheas trocht ar an mhéid a báthadh as Anach Cuan
Mo thrua amhrach gach athair is mathair bean is páiste atá ag síleadh síl
A RÌ na nGrásta, a cheap neamh is Páthas, nár bheag an bhacht d™inn beirt nó triúr?
Ach chomh breá leis gan gaoth gan bí isteach is lán an bháid acu a scuabadh ar shiúil

You have the wrong lyrics. Here are some better ones: https://songsinirish.com/?song=anach-cuan-lyrics. On the last line of the second stanza though, it should say ar shiúil instead of ar hiúil.
