Time ran out = Bhí an t-am caite.

Time is running out = ?
Tá an t-am ag éirí caite?

Tá an t-am ag dul amú maybe?

Wouldn't that be 'time is being wasted'? Perhaps it can mean both?

"Tá an t-am ag breith orm/orthu/r.l.s" is what I would say

Tá an t-ám ag imeacht (uainn). Unless that's Béarlachas, I don't know, it is heard anyhow. :S

Doesn't sound like anything in English on this side of the Straits of Moyle, so if there's a similar structure in Hiberno-English, that'll be an Gaelicism in the English.

It's also structurally similar to the ScG (lit "the time is running on us") so seems pretty Gaelic.

Actually, this is the one I am most familiar with. I had forgotten it. I still have difficulty about the whole Béarlachas issue. I have ditched phrases that I thought were Béarlachas only to later find out that they weren't!

There is also the expression

Ní tráth moille é - There is no time for delay

Not quite the same thing, but similar.
