Is there an Irish equivalent for am and pm when telling the time? I would always say "9 ar maidin" , but I came across 9rn recently, which I'm guessing means "roimh nóin" or something like that. Is that common? And what's the version for pm?

iarnóin = i.n. = pm

I wouldn't say its too common in actual speech. You see it a bit on fógraí alright.

I think "am" and "pm" are acceptable in Irish as they are latin abbreviations, not English. :D

If I was writing I would use a.m and p.m but when speaking I use ar maidin and um thráthnóna.
