I'm going to be in Ireland in a months time and was wondering what book shops you would recommend. I will be based in the midlands but can also head up to the big smoke if needs be. I'm looking for books for myself and my 3 year old who has a few Irish books already. Online book stores are also of interest.

I've been getting most of my books from Litriocht, online (http://www.Litriocht.com). At the moment I'm only buying childrens books but they seem to have a wide range of all-sorts. Their service is very good, too, keeping up-to-date on the progress of orders, for instance.

I'm not sure where they are, I don't think it's Dublin. I've seen their adress somewhere but I've just been on the website, and couldn't see anything at a quick glance. Cork seems to ring a bell, but I'm not sure.

These are both excellent online shops;

An Siopa Leabhar: http://www.cnagsiopa.com/

Litríocht: http://www.litriocht.com/shop/#.VOJXafl_tQs

Their prices are very fair and they have a good collection of books for children as well as books that have gone out of print.

Some book shops are found here: http://www.coisceim.ie/siopai.html

Books for kids: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2065&hilit=books+for+children

An Siopa Leabhar, 6 Sráid Fhearchair, Baile Átha Cliath 2. http://www.cnagsiopa.com/

Ceapaim go bhfuil sé go deas dul isteach i siopa chun féáchaint ar na leabhair.

(Má tá tú in Éirinn le haghaidh Seachtain (coicís!) na Gaeilge, beidh neart ar siúl. Caithfidh tú dul ar chuid de na himeachtaí.)

I found their address buried in an out-of-the way place on their web site:

Litríocht
Bard na nGleann
Béal Átha'n Ghaorthaidh, Contae Chorcaí
00353 (0)26.47330
www.litriocht.com/shop
