Hi, can anybody help me translate the phrase 'its not about the destination, its about the journey' or let me know if there is already an Irish version of this phrase?
Cheers
Ian

This is my attempt at it - but wait for confirmation and other ideas from the others.

Is níos tábhachtaí ag dul ar aistear ná ag sroicheadh an ceann scríbe.
(It's more important to go on a journey than to reach the destination.)

Another possibility:

Níl an ceann scríbe chomh tabhactach ná an aistear: The destination isn't as important as the journey.

Definitely wait for more.

leis an aistear. Other than that this works.

Is níos ... does not work. ("is" and "níos" is tautologous here)

Is tábhachtaí dul ar aistear ná an ceann scríbe a shroicheadh = it is more important to make a journey than to reach the destination.
nó:
Is tábhachtaí an aistear ná a cheann scríbe. = The journey is more important than its destination.

Go raibh maith agat

I was wondering whether isn't already a proverb in Irish that expresses this idea, about taking the road or something like that. Not that I would wish the road to rise in any way, you understand - Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.

Tá an ceart agat. This is what happens when I change translations mid-stream!

Níl an ceann scríbe chomh tabhactach leis an aistear.

Cad faoi:
Ní h-é an ceann scríbe ach an t-aistear atá i gceist
