Translation for tattoo: 'I LIVE HERE' (or more accurately 'I EXIST HERE')

I'm using 'live' in the 'exist' context. The tattoo represents existing in my own body as well as in the here and now.

'mairim anseo' came to mind, but it is the contracted form, and I'm concerned that the context may refer more to living in a house or place, rather than 'existing.'

The contracted form is fine. That's a regional distinction...it has no bearing on meaning. And the verb is correct. If you wanted to say you lived in a house or place, you'd say something along the line of "tá mé i mo chónaí anseo."

Mairim means, to me, I live in the sense of I survive, I endure, which is also pretty close to your idea I think.
However mairim is not really a “contraction” it’s the synthetic form of the verb and as far as I know it would be used across the dialects. (I don’t think the analytic form “maireann mé ” exists in any dialect, or if it does it’s not very common.)
It’s with the present tense of bí that the difference becomes regional - táim, mostly in Munster and tá mé, mostly in Ulster. You’ll hear both in Connacht but I think there’s a stronger leaning there towards the tá mé construction as well. (Perhaps Bríd or Breandán could help out here).

For I exist here you could maybe say something like Táim/tá mé anseo ann.
