AGOA

er … Am I the only person who doesn't understand a word of this?
I think 'pr0n' should really be 'or' in the middle instead of 'r0' - possibly trying to avoid writing the word? Robert is very appreciative of Lon Dubh's work and would like a system where he could vote to show his appreciation. AGOA is the Irish equivalent of LOL (ag gáire os ard). It's not quite the most literary offerings that will be found on this thread....

It gets around filters that are common in forums/boards like these. It's the Internet standard spelling when used "in polite conversation". Other communities, like the StackEchanges, a community that hosts question and answer sites on a range of topics (English usage, programming, parenting, math, etc), have a reputation based system that allows for the best answers and content to float to the top so they can be featured/found more easily by the community members. This is done by members voting or awarding points to the authors/contributors and their posts/answer. Rep(utation) systems are great for question and answer based sites. It doesn't always work so well for more fluid, social types of communities like this one, though. Especially when there seems to be a some what small core of regulars.

Not so fast, you need two more people to agree.

There are no such filters on this forum.
And we're not big on "polite conversation" either :darklaugh:

Just to answer RobertKaucher - if you look at Club Daon-Phoblacht on bebo.com and you scroll down, you'll see there a complete list of these kinds of abbreviations.
