Taking on a language can be a huge undertaking, daunting , especially when you have spectacularly failed to take it on in 14 years of school.
I know its hard after a long day to trek to that class and try focus. A lot of people drop out or just cant find the time. Doesn't make them wish otherwise and congratulate those who manage it. I support lots of things, human rights, environmental issues, rural development, wildlife re population, better health care system , etc. etc. etc.
But I don't, I cant be actively involved in all of these things i feel passionately about and support in some form . Im not a rich philanthropist. But i do what i can, donate a small bit of money, read about, talk about it to increase awareness, vote in ways i hope will further these things. This is how id classify supporting something.
Being actively involved is the next step. In the case of Irish, if you join a class, conversation group, try use it more with friends, send your kids to Irish schools/events. This is you actively spending your time to futher those goals. I supported the idea of speaking more Irish, years before I felt I could put the time aside to actively involve myself.
