Then lunch at an hotel. Then music and dancing until late.

Sometimes not all the people that are invited to the Church are invited to the reception.
Church is free, reception costs money. But at the end of the day the guests really pay their own ways with gifts.

I've been to weddings where after the luncheon, the neighbors are invited in for the dancing and snack foods are served to all. Also, only at the wedding toast at the luncheon are the drinks provided. After that, a cash bar is available.

So that would be why it would be an evening invitation, I suppose - but I thought tráthnóna could mean the afternoon just as much as it could the evening - so how would you know? I see that there's a song called 'Tráthnóna beag aréir' - which is translated as - late yesterday evening.

I got a wedding invitation last month that was very impressive. Now I want card for my wedding but didn't find right one yet.
