Having been thinking about it for a while I've decided that now my course in Dublin is finished I have reached my Irish goal and I won't be actively learning anymore for the foreseeable future. when i started learning Irish in 2007 i only want to learn the cupla focal but it developed into a bit of a passion for me and I got more out of learning Irish than i ever thought i would! the whole pobal na gaeilge in Dublin is amazing, small, but so vibrant and ive met many people both in Dublin and online that i would never have without the grá. I haven't been the most active member (or student!) of the board but I remember some of you from the old forum and want to say go raibh maith agaibh for all the help down the years, IGT was my first port of call when I first googled Gaeilge so people like Redwolf have literally been an online constant in my little journey and this board continues that helpful tradition and long may you inform new learners (and tattoo seekers!)

I am sure I will come back to Irish one day, its one of those passions that never really goes away isn't it!? But for at least a few years slán agus adh mór.

Just because you're taking a break from the formal part of it all doesn't mean you can't drop in for a chat every now and again. Lots of the members here are not 'studying' as such, but just visit as they like the company. I hope we see you from time to time. Remember Nás na Ríogh isn't too far away and there's a great ciorcal comhrá every Saturday morning and we are not picky about the company we keep!!!

Wishing you all the very best. Learning Irish is no harm at all at all, but it shows you need family or at least friends to whom and with whom you normally communicate in Irish - then it can never really go away or be left behind - even when you're away!
