Cian, I think the usual Ulster term is "wee shites."
Why the séimhiú in 'sites'?

Wee is feminine in Ulster, I think :)

I vote we try to get an ILF group going. Seriously! Wouldn't it be a great time?
Any specific dates in mind for 2013?

Just FYI, if anyone's going to the Fleadh Cheoil, I was talking to Liam from Oideas Gael at our recent Deireadh Seachtaine Gaeltachta in SF, and he mentioned that Derry has few hotels, and that it might be good to plan to stay somewhere like Letterkenny (in Donegal). Since the border is almost not there anymore, it's not a problem to go back and forth to Derry.

Any further progress on this idea?

The Oideas Gael courses are not timed very well as regards the fleadh. The fleadh runs from Monday 12th August to Sunday 18th. In my experience, it's not worth going the first few days unless you're competing. The best sessions are on the Friday-Sunday.

The problem is that the Oideas Gael courses run Saturday-Saturday, so you're either going to miss the start/end of the course, or you're going to miss the best part of the fleadh.

Looking at the Oideas Gael website, the only realistic option I can see is their course from August 3rd to August 10th. That would still leave everybody hanging around for a few days while we're waiting for the REAL start of the fleadh.

(It would also mean asking my boss for 2 and a half weeks off during our busiest period of the year :/ )
