Dia dhaoibh a chairde,

My name is Garth. Born and raised in Yorkshire, England but have beeen living in San Diego for the last 26 years.
I joined IGTF in 2006 and was a frequent visitor for a few years but lately have not been around much.
I was saddened to find out that the site is having a rough time at present but it is good to see a lot of "old" friends here on ILF.
I was Garthstone on IGTF but I am represented by my alter ego here as Col Ceathar Seosamh.

For those who might remember me I am still doing Civil War reenacting and using what very little Irish I have there; our unit represents the 69th New York State Volunteers - First Regiment of the Irish Brigade, but other than listening to the occasional tape or CD I have let my learning slide pretty badly so I am basically a beginner again.
Hopefully a new forum will inspire me to get a lot more serious about learning once more, I might even join the local Irish class again.

Anyway, the site looks great and am looking forward to becoming part of this new community.

Hi, Garth and welcome to the new forum. Everyone has lost their old post count as you can see. We bump old members of IGTF through the trial period (if their stories pan out

) so you are actually now a full registered member even though your rank may say you are in the trial period. That means you can use PMs, make a signature, and edit your posts. Hope you enjoy it. :wave:

I never had much of a post count anyway, unlike Redwolf and some others. Most of my posts were inquiries rather than attemps at translating other peoples requests.

Anyway, Thanks for putting this together and I hope I can be more active than I have been of late.
