In the wake of an email one of us got (which, in the midst of a good deal of other stuff, made one valid point), I should point out that "tusa" is emphatic...so this will read a bit like "YOU (and no one else) are my love." If that's the slant you're going for, you're golden.

I would also like add that my own basis for confirming Is tusa mo chroí was the chorus of An Páistín Fionn, which runs:

Is tusa mo rún, mo rún,
is tusa mo rún is mo ghrá geal;
Is tusa mo rún is mo chumann go buan,
'Sé mo chreach gan tú agam ód mháithrín.

I am not sure exactly how old the song is, but since the construction is tusa mo ~ exists in a traditional song, I could not refute its validity, even though my preferred construction is mo ~ thú and even FGB has Mo chroí thú.

When it comes to some of the arguments presented by academics concerning the copula, I find that the actual native usage in Connemara seems to be different from the Munster usage, hence much of the confusion.
