Don't worry, learning the Irish language is a good thing and you'll never regret it – you've got the official "Wee Falorie Man Guarantee" on this one! ;)

Tuigim anois. I can't believe that I was scared of this chapter! I've lost the urge to translate, to make it a lesson. I just want the rest of the story. And I want it in Irish. English is so pallid....

Hi, my name is Janet and I am addicted....

Yeah, it's a pretty good book so far and I'm happy to be reading it. I was originally going to start off with some easier books first and was planning to read Séadna eventually, but I'm glad that we're reading it now instead of putting it off till later.

Well done for working your way through Séadna again! I remembered Caibideal a Ceathair being difficult so that's why I included so much words in the notes. Also, hopefully, the book will start getting easier after the next few chapters. No matter how difficult it is, you will notice a big improvement in your Irish afterwards and everything becomes easier to read. If we try Niamh after this, you'll be surprised how easy it is.

Also, brilliant news, the owner of the wonderful Cork Irish website is now publishing his notes to Séadna on the website.
See here:
http://www.corkirish.com/wordpress/

He really looks at the language on a very deep level, in my opinion, and it is well worth going over his notes for chapters you have already read.

Anyway I hope to have Caibideal a Cúig up later today.

Thanks for that. I had no copy of Séadna and I have uploaded this onto my ebook reader. I have always preferred the 'old' script which is easier to read and am reading Séadna at the moment. I haven't followed the threads here yet, but it does look like you are having a good time with this book. The notes are a good resource.
The original PDF from the link above does not work on my ebook reader so I had to 'reduce file size' in Acrobat and this did the trick! I also 'cropped' it a little so that it the pages are little bigger on my screen - but the 'zoom' takes care of this anyway! If anyone here has a problem on their ebook reader with the file available above, I can make my new PDF file available for download.

hmm … I think I'm going to give that a try. Maybe all of the words from the book will go through my pillow and into my head ;)

By the way, I'm moving along nicely with Caibideal a Trí and if all goes well, I'll be ready to start on Caibideal a Ceathair sometime next week :)
