Yes, can confirm - "an dtuigeann tú leat mé" and its variations are reasonably common. It's used not really for a straight "do you understand me?" but more for "get what I'm saying?"/"catch my drift?" i.e. the idea of "do you know what I'm saying even though I'm not spelling it out?"
That's interesting. I tend to trust potafocal and copied it without even considering a problem, but when Breandán questioned it, I realised that it was different to anything I had heard myself.

My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect, but I can also speak Ulster and Munster Irish with native-level pronunciation.

"Tuigim liom thú !" - I haven't heard that. But I'm not saying that it's wrong.
I would say "tuigim" or "tuigeann" as a reply.

So it's a big "yes" to má thigeann tú leat mé, but only use tuigim for "I got it!". :yes:
