Dia dhaoibh!

I've been studying gaeilge for some time now, and I wanted to make a tattoo that represents this, along with other things.
Since I'm not much versed in the language, I would appreciate if anyone could help me with the translation of the following sentence into teanga na hÉireann:

"The best of moments are tattooed in my soul; in my skin I could only fit a reminder."

I won't make an appointment soon, so I have plenty of time to have this triple checked / agreed upon.
I give you all my appreciation in advance. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

Agus saol fada chugaibh!

I've had this posted in another forum as well, and someone came up with a phrase for me. If anyone can do some checking it'd be very much appreciated.

The first half looks ok to me, apart from the missing fada on tatú, but the second half I think needs to have two definite nouns

Ní hé an rud ar mo chraiceann ach an tseoid chuimhne.

Maybe it would be better as

Is cuimhneachán é an rud ar mo chraiceann.
The thing on my skin is a reminder

I think seoid chuimhne means souvenir rather than reminder.

But wait for someone with better Irish to have a look at my suggestions.

Wouldn't "seoid cuimhne" be a replacement for "hé":

So the positive:
Is seoid cuimhne an rud ar mo chraicheann
gets a placeholder "hé" when the seoid cuimhne, lack of article and all, is moved after ach...?

A dear friend of mine also suggested the following:

"Níl ar mo chraiceann ach cuimhne des na laethanta is fearr a mbeidh go deo ar m'anam".

She did warn me it's not quite the same, but that it transmits the same message. I also like the sound of it better, I think.
So now I'm left with two options:

"Rinne na nóiméid is fearr tatu ar m'anam; is cuimhneachán é an rud ar mo chraiceann."

Agus:

"Níl ar mo chraiceann ach cuimhne des na laethanta is fearr a mbeidh go deo ar m'anam".

What do you think?

How about:

Rinne na nóiméid is fearr tatú ar m'anam; níl ar mo chraiceann ach cuimhneacháin díobh.
"The best moments made a tattoo on my soul; on my skin there are only mementos of them."

Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), Gaeilic Uladh (GU), Gaelainn na Mumhan (GM), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).

I am far from an expert, but I like this one best, although I am wondering if there is a nicer verb than rinne? D'fhág perhaps?
D'fhág na nóiméid is fearr tatú ar m'anam..... / The best moments left a tattoo on my soul......

Editing to say it should probably be 'The best moments have left a tattoo.....'

Tá gliondár mo shaoil marcailte (mar tatú) ar m’anam. Ní raibh áit ar mo chraiceann ach do mheabhrúchán.


But I think yours is better Breandán.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.

In Irish, there are three elements in the copula construction:

Is múinteoir í mo bhean "My wife is a teacher" (literally "she is a teacher, my wife" ).


What about d'fhág instead of rinne, as Saoirse suggested?
