I understand "ligeadh isteach mé" as "I was allowed to come in". But maybe it may be used in other contexts I don't know

If this is what has sparked the 'other context' questions, I only meant that I presumed that it would be illegal for a seven year old to have a tattoo! Clearly I would not encourage such an action even if it were legal. I may have abandoned my children in favour of this forum in recent times, but would not promote or advocate the unnecessary use of needles on children, specifically with a view to permanently altering their bodies.

If that is not what sparked Lughaidh's and Scooby's question, then ignore everything I've said, particularly the bit about abandoning my children.......

The original context was trying to log on to a game (?), so I think ligeadh isteach mé "I was let in" makes sense since the security protocol has to let you in for you to gain access, usually only if you get your password right.

Likewise, if you found a way around the problem, then fuair mé dul isteach ann "I found a way in" or I succeeded in gaining entry" also makes sense in the context.

If the idea is not that 'I was let in' but that 'I got in / broke in / hacked in' then I can definitely vote for this one.

The original context was that she couldn't get in as she must have been putting in the incorrect username and/or password, but then she typed in the correct information and so 'she got in'. No hacking, no criminality involved. The seven year old in question is perfectly law abiding - so far. (I hear that it's at least eight before they really kick off!) Does that upset the universal agreement that was emerging?
