Couldn't agree more, people aren't stupid, they just need educating! I suppose at least he didn't change his name to O'Brien that would be selling out properly! On the most part the Brits pronounce his name well, ironically it's Gráinne Seoige's surname they can't get their head around, and that doesn't even have a fada!
English people have a big problem with my name though, I suppose not being famous doesn't help. I'm generally known as Sam, but i'm Somhairle in work because I work with another Sam and it confused the client's, well it turns out Somhairle confused them more!! Only today I got (from an English person), how do you pronounce that, Sorla (roughly) I said, he replied, what soil-er?! Jesus, it's Sam ok
