Hi, everyone! Does anyone know: Would I be wrong in thinking the letter combination “iaigh” is (in Ulster) pronounced EE-ay.

Abair.ie gives that pronunciation for words like fiaigh (FEE.ay), amfaibiaigh (amm.FABB.ee.ay), & ciaigh (KEE.ay)…but the two examples of such words on teanglann.ie (iaigh & fiaigh) seem to maybe saying (EE.eye) instead (but it’s a little hard for me to trust my ears).

Thank you very much to anyone who knows!

Hmmm, that very well may be what I’m hearing. Thank you for your input! I’ll have to go back and listen a few times with fresh ears :good: :D
