An Carmanach put a sound file on Forvo, showing in Munster Irish, Aodhan is Ao-án (although people with this name often say it is pronounced with a g).
We were discussing this on another forum (a Telegram group Gaeilge abú) - I wonder if anyone knows the Connacht pronunciation. Bríd Mhór often does pronunciations?
Indeed from the spelling the pronunciation should be: Aodhan = Ao-án
But I've never personally heard that. Here people drop the H. And spell and pronounce it with a D as
Aodán.
Similiar to the Munster
Aogán, with the G.
