Hi Everyone,

I'm finally moving forward on a spine piece that I've been thinking about for a long while and was hoping that you all could help me out with a translation. I am considering the Agnes de Mille quote below for a line of red ogham running from my tailbone to my neck.

"Bodies never lie"

I would be very grateful if someone was able to suggest an old spelling translation that I could transcribe into ogham...Or the ogham version itself if anyone feels so inclined.

There aren't many people on the forum who know Old Irish, but as a start, here's a possibility in modern Irish:

Ní insíonn na coirp bréaga choíche.
Bodies never tell lies.

Note that Irish doesn't have a simple one-word verb for "to lie", or a single word for "never", so you'd actually be saying "not ever".

I'm not too familiar with Ogham, but in case you can;t get a useful Old Irish version, I believe that all of those letters existed in the traditional Ogham script, although I'm not sure how you would handle the séimhiú (the H's") in the last word.
