Hello, I am from germany. And for my wife, which I met on a journey to ireland, I would like to have a irish gaelic translation for the phrase 'Live free or die' which is the state motto of US state New Hampshire. Other than the original reason for this motto her reason for liking this motto is that she wants to live free and without beeing repressed by other people who want her to behave in the way they want her to do. She is the kind of woman who most often acts like other want her to do, just to have no trouble. But that is no more the way she wants to live, so for that reason she wants to 'live free'.
One step for this project ist to have a tattoo with this motto.
And because we both love Ireland and the Irish, she wants to have this motto in irish gaelic language.

"Live" is a hard verb to translate into Irish and translating it often results in unnatural phrasing.

Translating the gist of the meaning, perhaps:

ar mo chomhairle féin "under my own influence/counsel/direction/advice"

Or more fully:

Tá mé ar mo chomhairle féin "I am under my own influence/counsel/direction/advice" "I am free to do as I please."
