I was corrected the poem wasn't written by de Hindeberg (thanks David)

Quote:
It was written by Liam Ó Raghallaigh in a 1932 edition of the Irish
Press - and you can hear a child from An Ring reciting it at
http://soundcloud.com/seadna/m-rtas-gael

The Cómhrá clip does not say Mórtas Gael is by de Hindeberg - the man
says when he was at school he was given pieces by people like de
Hindeberg to recite - but he doesn't say this piece is by him, and
this poem has nothing to do with de Hindeberg

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

That's the same recitation that is in the radio broadcast Cian posted.

Derrindaffderg, a charaid. Seo chúghat an dán. Tosnaíonn sé ag 13.14.

Cian.

GRMMA a Bhreandáin as ucht do chabhartha!

Unfortunately, the audio of the child reading Mórtas Gael is a dead link - and soundcloud have deleted it from their archive. Does anyone have it?
