I was hoping that some of you would be able to help me with a translation. I would like to have the words "Walk by faith" translated into Scottish Gaelic for a tattoo. It is to mean something along the lines of "Walk by the strength of faith", not "Walk next to faith" or "walk past faith".

I am new to this and any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!

The preposition "by" won't really work in a Scottish Gaelic version, because it would likely convey one of the meanings you don't want (passing by or walking beside). Here are some possibilities for what you want:

Coisich leis a' chreideamh
Walk with faith [This may still come across too literally, though]

Coisich anns a' chreideamh
Walk in faith

or, if you have the room:

Coisich ann an co-rèir ris a' chreideamh
Walk in accordance with faith
