Question one:
I would like a pint of milk
"Ba mhaith liom pionta bainne a bheith agam"

Grammatically speaking, why do we need "bheith" in this sentence? Seems like we could do without it... Isn't "Ba" like the conditional form of the copula "is"?

Question two:
I am the youngest in my family
"Is mise an duine is óige sa chlann"

Why do we need "an duine" in this sentence? It seems like "mise" is a perfectly good subject...

I would like a pint of milk: Ba mhaith liom pionta bainne
I would like to have a pint of milk: Ba mhaith liom pionta bainne a bheith agam

Is mise an duine is óige sa chlann
an duine is necessary here because is óige is merely an adjective, and cannot be used as a noun as in English. The literal translation is 'I am the youngest person in the family'.

You can do w/o it
Ba mhaith liom pionta bainne. is totally fine.
But it means smth different from Ba mhaith liom pionta bainne a bheith agam.

Grammatically, "mise" is the predicate, "an duine is óige sa chlann" is the subject.
