I'll try to clarify the quote a wee bit. Bravery and love for/of freedom ('of' in case you're a Nazareth fan ) It's actually something I came up with to put on a title page of a book I finished last Monday. The story of the San Patricio Battalion in the background, I thought suchlike dedication would be spot-on (Argentina was an offshot ).

I think people may be hesitating with this one because words like "once" and "future" don't have direct translations as adjectives in Irish, meaning that the expression will probably need to be reworded. Here's a possibility, but do wait for comments/corrections by others:

Do na gaiscígh a bhí ann agus le teacht in Éirinn, i Meicsiceo, agus san Airgintín.
To the warriors who have been and are to come in Ireland, Mexico, and Argentina.

An chalmacht agus an grá ar an tsaoirse, téann siad thar fóir ar fad.
Bravery and the love of freedom go far beyond all bounds.

for the second line, another possibility might be:

Níl teoraínn ar bith ag an gcalmacht ná ag an ngrá ar an tsaoirse.
Bravery and the love of freedom have no limit.

An added note is that i may have one or two superfluous definite articles up above here, so that's one area where there may be comments. Note that, in some cases, where the definite article ("the") would be customary in English, it may be omitted in Irish, and vice versa, and it's not always easy for non-native speakers to keep track of that.

'Once' and 'future' were used in the same sense as 'The once and future king' in reference to the T.H. White's book. The broader connotation means warriors past and future.

Cyril, my "laochra" and CaoimhínSF's "gaiscigh" are synonyms, both ok. As are my "chrógacht" and his "chalmacht". Same thing with my "don tsaoirse" and his "ar an tsaoirse"



CaomhínSF, I think you need "atá le teacht". I don't think "thar fóir" is suitable here.
