Happy Christmas everyone! I am looking for a simple word translation for "redeemed". The contact is that I am redeemed by Christ. Thank you!

I suggest - slánaithe - but wait for confirmation from the others.
I answered your similar question in the Scottish Gaelic part of the forum. The same four verbs which I mentioned there (in their Gaelic forms) exist in Irish, and the same impersonal use of the verbal noun approach also works in Irish, and is traditional, but I suspect franc may be right in terms of what is now used in everyday Irish, paralleling the English past participle usage. I think the verb
fuascail (that's the Irish form of the Gaelic
fuasgail which I mentioned in the other thread) has been used more in the religious sense of "redeem" in Irish, but I suspect that the average person would still think of
slánaithe ("saved") first.
