I have rarely been able to find transcripts to accompany audio clips, so this reading by the south Conamara author Micheál Ó Conghaile will be of interest to some. Ó Conghaile was born on the tiny island of Inis Treabhair (abandoned since 1993) in Ceantar na nOileán.

This is why I prefer Conamara Irish! The sounds and rhythms are more pleasing to my ear, and I find them easier to reproduce compared with Ulster or Munster Irish, although only slightly...

The thing that stands out to me about Ó Conghaile's reading is how certain small words are almost passed over...the pace is very quick at times. I can barely make them out, even with the aid of the transcript.

Mo Scéal Féin, by Peadar Ua Laoghaire, can be read here in its entirety and it is accompanied by an audio from Mairéad Uí Lionáird of the Cork Gaeltacht (Munster Irish).
