I mentioned this in previous posts, but I will again explain that am using Rosetta Stone to learn Irish. I hope you will forgive what is probably a very obvious question.

Can someone explain why there is lenition in this sentence:
Tá rothair ghlasa acu.

I believe the meaning is "They have green bikes." I have picked up on the fact that adjectives take the ending "a" to agree with plural nouns. But I haven't found a trend to explain why there is lenition here. Please help me.

If a plural noun ends with a slender consonant, the following word is lenited. So, since róthair is plural, and ends with a slender consonant, it lenites the next word.

Other examples:

fir ghlana
gasúir dhána

Should be "fir ghlana"
