You have 24 hours, a time machine, all the recording equipment you need and a flying vessel (think Star Trek runabout), which period of Irish history would you visit? Would you record speech, social structure, or major events? Or something else?

:)

Well, if I had advanced technology like that, I would change history so that the Irish language wouldn't be endangered in the first place. :)

Hmm, I'd probably go back and see what it was like in a Bardic school.

I'd be curious to see what some people looked like, mainly annalists and poets like Seathrún Céitinn, Eoghan Rua Ua Súilleabháin, Cathal Óg Mac Maghnusa.

I'd like to know about when Irish came here and how it and Welsh got their similarities, tho 24 hrs is not enough for that

I'd be fascinated to hear/record the speech of the builders of Newgrange etc.
The pronunciation of the literary elite speaking and reciting poetry in Classical Irish.
Also the pronunciation of the Irish of south Leinster while it was still thriving.

If intervention was permitted it would be January 1602, Kinsale, phasers and photon torpedoes at the ready.... :D

If I had a time-machine, why would I have a time limit?
