I want to say
'everything was going well for them, they hadn't a care in the world,'

What would you say for the first part?
__________________________, ní raibh cíos, cás nó cathú orthu'

    thanks

How about, 'bhí siad ar dhroim na muice....' literally, 'they were on the pig's back'.

Are you writing an essay for school? college?

Check back in a while; someone will come along with something else.

        Perhaps:

Bhí an saol ag imeacht go maith dóibh, ...

        Await further input ...

It's for the Lc oral exam, the sraith pictiur section.

I like the sound of Bhí an saol ag imeacht go maith dóibh

I think I'll use it , thanks. (it wouldn't be too literal would it?

Do you go to any ciorcal cómhrá? Are there any in your area? They would give you a chance to practise your Irish with other interested people?

If you are managing RnaG, you are doing o.k. Raidio na Life is there too for a younger audience. The standard of Irish varies considerably though. Regarding Ciorcail Cómhra, I would be very surprised if there wasn't one near you, they are all over the place. However, as you said, your orals are around the corner. Go n'éirí go geal leat!
