It gets hard quickly. On many of the questions, the language sounded a bit like Russian, so I picked the language that I thought was closest to Russian. That strategy fell apart when I was asked to choose between Hungarian, Romanian, and Slovak!

My mistakes were Punjabi and South Efate (forgot the third one).

Romanian's not like Russian at all - though some Russian words have crept in (I've been told - and even more so in Moldavia) - it's fairly similar to Italian but they put the article at the end of the word - just to catch you out.

850... hard to identify a language when you never heard 2 or 3 in the list :mrgreen:

I'm unable to say if something is Malay or Tagalog for instance, actually I more or less heard them but it's hard to recognize one from another

Same problem when there are 2 indo-european Indian languages...

I didn't actually think that any of the three (Hungarian, Romanian, and Slovak) were like Russian -- my problem was that I thought they were about equally far from Russian.
