'Established' = 'bunaithe' i nGaeilge
When shortened, 'established' becomes 'estd.' How is 'bunaithe' shortened? Is it just 'bun.' ?
I don't think
bunaithe is the right part of speech for that usage.
Bunaithe is usually used attributively as in "an established business", etc.
If we take the example of
foilsigh "to publish", you will usually find either
Foilsíodh i ... or
Arna fhoilsiú i ... in Irish books for "Published in ..." rather than the (I suspect) erroneous
foilsithe.
From that, I would say that the correct term is either
Bunaíodh i ... or
Arna bhunú/bunú/mbunú i ... (the form of bunú depending on whether the subject is masculine, feminine, or plural).
So the question becomes, can
bunaíodh or
arna bhunú be shortened? or do they even need to be?
