Okay, here's what I can make of the song so far:

Tá dhá ghabhairín bhuí agam is mínseach bhainne, mínseach bhainne
(I've got two wee yellow goats and milch goats, milch goats)
* "Yellow" is probably more of a golden brown colour, I think.

Briseann siad mó chroí ionam á dtabhairt abhaile, dtabhairt abhaile
(They break my heart in me at bringing them home, bringing them home)

Nil áit agam 'na gcrúfainn iad ach síos am hata, sios am hata
(I've got no place in which I would milk them but in my hat, in my hat)
* Does am meant the same thing as im' ?

Ligeann mo hata tríd é ar fuaid a' bhaile, ar fuaid a' bhaile
(My hat let's it through throughout the town, throughout the town)

Tá dhá ghabhar sa choill agam is caoire geala, caoire geala
(I've got two goats in the wood and white sheep, white sheep)

Ní íosfaidís aon ní dhom ach barr an aitinn, barr an aitinn
(They wouldn't eat anything for me but the top of the furze, the top of the furze)

Cuirim i dteannta an chlaí iad le stúmpa bata, stúmpa bata
(I put them along the fence with a stump of a stick, a stump of a stick)

Siúd thar mhull' an chlaí iad 's i bhfad ó bhaile, i bhfad ó bhaile
(Over the top o' the fence they go and far from town, far from town)
* Or is it "far from home"?

Sin port ná fuil ag an bpíobaire Hielan' Laddie, Hielan' Laddie
(That's a tune that the piper hasn't got … )

Seán Ó Ceala an píobaire is bíodh sé mar sin, bíodh sé mar sin
(Seán Ó Ceala the piper and let it be like that, let it be like that – or "let it be so")
* Or is it "let him be like that" ?

From the Irish it could be either, so this is down to the song. Anybody know?

Actually, that's a really good version that's virtually identical to the one that I'm learning.

Their translation isn't very good and they left out the last part of the song. Fortunately, I think I've pretty much got it figured out, thanks to a little hard work and the notes from An Lon Dubh .

* edit: A Loin Dhuibh, have you finished the fancy final version of the notes for Sliabh na mBan bhFionn? The seana-chló part of the notes stops at Cuid a seacht.

First of all:
Regarding the seana-chló, would you prefer it to be in the Roman script? The problem with the seana-chló and Latex (the program I use to make the notes) is that the seana-chló that Latex produces isn't searchable (Deghebh pointed this out to me), so I was thinking of not including it. What do you think?
Basically if you try to search for something in the notes, the sean-chló section is semi-invisible to search.
Also if you copy something from the seana-chló and paste it (for example here on the forum) it comes out as weird gobbledygook.

Secondly:
I'm including some of the stuff in letters and other publications relating to Sliabh na mBan. This has taken me a little while to get my hands on. These are from the original hand-written letters of Peadar Ua Laoghaire kept in the National Library.

Personally, it doesn't matter at all whether or not the words are searchable. Sliabh na mBan bhFionn is not a very long story and everything in the notes is easy to look up. The ability to copy and paste words also doesn't matter to me because I always print a hard copy of everything and study the actual printed words. Reading from a physical copy is the easiest and best way for me to learn things.

It's fine to use the modern script with the Munster form of the new spelling; some of the words in the notes are in the old spelling so I think that they should be changed so that everything is consistent. Here's a quote from something that I said back in August:
