It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Go raibh maith 'ad a Bhríd, agus tá dhá cinn eile 'am freisin.

Níor chuala mé an glaodhach nó go raibh sé thart.

Níor chuala mé an guthán go dtí go raibh sé thart.

Great stuff there lads.

I have "chailleas an glao" for missing the call or missing the match but not for missing a goal or a point or a score.

Chuaigh sé (.i. an chaid nó an sliotar) ar seachrán, ar foraoil, ar strae- I've a bit astrae meself many is the time down wesht.... and ye're right it would be more of a negative expression in the sense of "níor aimsigh sé an scór.

For the best commentary on the games in Munster Irish, listen to Brian Tyers or Mícheál Ó Sé now that the great Ó Muircheartaigh has retired. Also, for wonderful West Kerry Irish listen to Dara Ó Cinnéide on Seó Spóirt friday nights

The mighty Cats and the Premier today....I have a oner on the cats at 4/6 a great bet methinks.

Turned out to be a good bet. The drinks are on Rossaí :toast:

I couldn't go to the final this time round (feckin' job). We were listening to it on the radio in work, and I was translating the Irish commentary for the rest of the staff. That was a tough challenge, the commentators have to talk so fast and you're trying to work at the same time. When the ref gave out two red cards, the lads thought I was joking.

Cill Chainnigh abú!

Jaysus Mick it was a seriously physical match. I backed Cill Chainnigh at minus two in the end and had a double whit that and kildare/ galway....made e114 clear. I still think the cats were a lot better than the three point deficit and will not or cannot be beaten this year. They're breaking our hearts in Cork for a goo few years now but what a team and what hurling they play....may as well make a few quid off ye....the best team in the country for years...probably all time...mighty!
