Needing assistance with the correct translation of: "Two is one, one is none"

This one is a great deal more difficult than you might think. For one thing, Irish uses different words for the numbers used to number people, the numbers used for numbering things, and the numbers used for counting.

Perhaps (assuming you're talking about people here)...

Is ionann beirt do dhuine amháin; is ionann duine amháin do dhuine ar bith. "A couple is equal to one person; one person is equal to no person."

It's clunky, though, and I'm not at all sure it works. Wait for more.

Regardless of what you ultimately go with (even if you stick with the English), you need a semicolon between those two clauses, not a comma.
