I have been doing some research for my next tattoo. I want to get "I am enough" in Gaelic, to take a phrase or sentiment that may be more common in tattoos and make it more personal by connecting it to my heritage. I've seen a few different translations, but the most common seem to be:

"Is leor mè"
"Tà mè go leor"
"Is mise leor"

Please advise as to which of these would make the most sense. Thank you!

The first one could be acceptable, but the second two are not, to my mind. I think I can pretty safely say to put 2 and 3 off the table.

Is leor mé (note that accents in Irish are acute (é) not grave (è)) could work

What I might prefer would be Ní beag mé
(Not to be confused with Níl mé beag (I am not short))

Ní beag duit mé, I'm enough for you.
Ní beag liom féin mé, I myself think, I'm enough.
Ní beag dom féin mé. = I'm enough for myself
Ní beag do X mé. = I'm enough for X

But just: Ní beag mé ... Wouldn't it rather be read verbatim: I'm not (a) small (thing)?

Thank you! If it is in the context of being enough(smart enough, good enough, basically sufficient when compared to expectations), would the second one work? Ní beag liom féin mé?

I also considered whether someone might interpret ní here as "thing," in which case it would have a completely opposite meaning!
Anyway, I was also unsure of what you mentioned, which is one reason I said to definitely wait for more feedback. I really am not sure.



To me, it definitely sounds like yes, it would be appropriate.

Not sure I like any of the above. My suggestion would be:

Tá mé ábalta. "I am able" = "equal to the task."

or even:

Tá mé umhal ábalta. "I am willing and able".
