Hello everyone, I wonder if someone may be able and willing to help me with the aforementioned please.

Basically I want to have this tattoo in Irish Gaelic as it is personal and I do not want people being able to distinguish its meaning at a glance. It is merely a celebration and an inspiration for me.

The tattoo is as follows ;

The darkest moments have made me strong.

The translation I have at the moment is this ;

An chuimhneacháin is dorcha déanta láidir mé.

Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.

Not sure where you got that (Google "trashlate", perhaps), but the grammar is largely wrong, and some of the words don't mean what you were told. For example, in Irish, the verb normally comes first, and your main verb is conjugated incorrectly as well. The sentence structure in an expression like this in Irish would also usually be somewhat the reverse of the approach in English. Here is a fairly literal way to say it, understanding that there are several choices for some of the words, such as "strong" and "moment":

Rinne siad tréan mé, na móimintí ba dorcha.
Do dhein siad tréan mé, na móimintí ba dorcha. [older verb form, still used in Munster]
"They made me strong, the moments which were darkest."

Do wait for wait for other comments, because people may have better suggestions (or corrections), and you may end up with several variations to choose from. We recommend that you end up with at least three people agreeing on the correctness of the grammar & vocabulary of whatever your final choice may be, before you put anything on your skin.

On a side note I wish to have my tattoo in Irish for a couple of other reasons, but I did not want to appear disingenuous.

For one I am of Irish descent (my grandparents are from Cork) as a lot of Scots are of course. As well as the fact that the original tattoo I wanted was an Irish blessing, but I decided to go with this as it is more fitting to me.

It's an awkward one, that's for sure. Was there a discussion here before about láidir implying physicality specifically moreso than neart?

As íochtar mo duibheagán a tháinig mo neart.
