The spam problem originally discussed here has been solved by Breandán (see below), so I'm revising this post and "un-stickying" it, so as not to scare people off.

Whatever happens with spam in the future, I'll continue to maintain the thread with usefu lGaelic references which is "stickied" to stay at the beginning of the queue, as well as the other threads referenced in that thread, since I've locked those threads and can protect them from spam.

Note that this thread is also locked, to keep it from getting spammed, so no replies will be accepted here (except by mods).

I've removed the spam posts and introduced manual approval for all new members. That should stem the worst of the spam. Unfortunately, the bots appear to be using AI to respond to the questions, making it harder to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Please report posts with spam in them and we will eject the perpetrators.
