Can you say " is mise cumadóir na n-amhrán " . Is this correct if I want to say " I compose the songs rather than saying " cumaim " . GRMA

That means "I am the composer of the songs".

I compose the songs: bím ag cumadh na n-amhrán?

These sentences are similar, but translate differently into English.

I am the composer of the songs: this is a copula of identification. (I am THE X...)
I am a composer of songs; this is a copula of classification (I am A X...): is cumadóir amhrán me, cumadóir amhrán is ea me.
