It depends on the intended meaning.
"Lig" is an imperative 2nd person. So it addresses directly a certain person. If meant so, "lig" is correct.
Lig di bheith saor. (e.g. said to a slave owner, a police officer, or to an overprotective mother)
But in English, "let" (though being also 2nd person) is used for a 3rd person imperative, too.
Not an addressee should really "let" something happen here but the 3rd person (sí) should do/be something. Irish has a 3rd person imperative for this:
Bíodh sí saor.
