I'm looking for help with an Irish translation for a wrist tattoo. I'd like it to say "forgive and let go". Specifically - "forgive" in the sense of a command to oneself, or alternatively "I forgive"; and "let go" in the sense of letting go of the past, i.e. no longer being affected by something. So far in my own stumbling about I've come up with:

maithim agus scaoileadh

or

maith do agus scaoileadh

Are these way off for the meaning I'm going for? For kicks I did compare with Google translate, and it gives me logh agus lig dul, which seems too literal.

I'm not entirely sure this can be done without an object for the verb.

Maithim agus scaoilim leis = I forgive and I let it/him go.

Wait for 3 to confirm.

One problem with what you had proposed was that the second verb was conjugated oddly for the context, but Bríd has fixed that.
