We have built ourselves a little retirement home in the country. It is located about 600 ft from the little country road, back among the trees. We love the peace and quiet, the country, rural, rustic theme & want to call our place: The Quiet Woods
We both have Gaelic ancestry - Murphys & Bryans - and would love to make references & decorations to our home in this language. I've looked in on-line dictionaries but they are confusing for those who do not know the language. They seem too literal word for word - and I do know enough to know that is not always how languages work.
Also - it seems different languages refer to different reference to 'land with trees' differently - some depending on size of plot of land, some depending on age & maturity of trees, and other characteristics.

Forest? - seems to be a more extensive plot of trees than here
Woods (which is what we call them here) - there are probably 3 acres of trees directly in front of us; 2 acres on one side, and then 100 acres behind & to the other side (not all ours though!).
