Hi guys,

My name is Leen and I'm from Holland.
I would like to get a tattoo in the Gaelic language, been thinking about it for years and I know this
the one! I chose to do it in Gaelic because I fell in love with Ireland years ago and it comes in handy
that nobody in Holland can read it, so I can keep it a little secret.
This is the text:

An Angel in
the book of life
wrote down
my babies's births.
And whispered as
she closes the book,
too beautiful for earth.

Thank you so much, I would appreciate the help so much!

Leen.

That's a lovely text! It will probably end up sounding more prosaic in Irish...it's hard to get something like this to convey the same sense and still have poetic rhyme and cadence.

I'm afraid my poetry skills are non-existent.

But maybe somebody can build on this:

Scríobh aingeal breith mo pháistí i leabhar na Beatha.

Ag dúnadh an leabhar di labhair sí faoina hanáil “tá siad ró-álainn don talamh”.

Instead of "labhair sí faoina hanáil" you can say instead "labhair/dúirt sí i gcogar".

Yo nice poem but you mistakenly wrote "closes" instead of "closed"
That would ruin the meter of the poem (it is iambic heptameter)!
Also there is no additional 's' in the fourth line.

I doubt that would make a difference in a translation but in case you wanted to put the English on your body as well it would definitely be important.

‘Ní hiad a sárú ar an domhan”.

Definitely wait for someone to translate this better

Maybe not :D . > Níl a sárú... (muna bhfuil dul amú orm faoina bhfuil i gceist agat), ach ní hionann sin is "too beautiful for earth".
