I just saw an ad on tv which mentioned that we use Irish everyday in Ireland even when speaking English. Words such as 'craic' and 'smithereens'' (from smidiríní) were examples given. The ad was for www.liofa.eu. I did a quick search here on ILF and we don't seem to have mentioned it so I checked it out and it seems very good. If you are interested in learning Ulster Irish, this seems like it might be a good place to start. I am particularly interested in what Ulster Irish speakers think of it as a resource.

Yeah this is one of things I saw that made me decide to give learning a go, I've had a wee look at some of the lessons and they seem pretty good to me. I can even say "Hello, How are you?" now
