The book is contemporary fantasy, the first in a series. I call it "a cataclysmic love story with a touch of magic." The main plot revolves around an ancient war between two powerful families descended from a magic people of Ireland similar to the Druids. There are five books in the series which crosses three generations, with a pair of lovers in each: one pair destined, one pair enemy, and one pair tragic.
