"I love you"

We've looked at this before, but it is an eternal theme. :D

Tá grá agam duit. or Tá grá agam ort. are kind of textbook answers.

Other idiomatic ways to say "I love you" are:

Mo ghrá thú "I love you" literally "You are my love"
Is tusa mo ghrá "I love you" literally "You are my love"
Tá mo chroí istigh ionat "I love you" literally "My heart is inside you."

Thanks! I appreciate your taking the time to translate. I would think you probably had covered this, so my apologies for being such a newbie. LOL.

It's always useful to have this. Another thing that I think can be worth mentioning - and I am not the best equipped to do it - is to state differences between expressing love to a child and to a lover. There must be some that work for both, but others that don't?
