24. Rith sé toisc go raibh an bus deireanach imithe.
cé was also suggested to me as an answer in the past.
mar is another possibility.

I always want to spell 'daoibh' as 'diobh'...
As I was let away with 'toisc' last time...

Chas sé ar dheis nó faoi dheis.

Smaoinigh arís ar 'tugaigí freagra ______'.

'faoi' really gets around, doesn't it!

I can't see a problem with 'tugaigí freagra dom' so don't know what to do with that.

Isn't it supposed to mean, 'answer me when it suits you.' (you-plural)? I have always put 'do' with 'tabhair'.

Only "mar" would work there. But "mar go" isn't a preposition itself...

(BTW, the thinking was - He ran to his destination because he had missed the bus).

"Toisc" and "Mar" would mean the same thing "because/as a result of" but "cé" to me means "even though", so that doesn't really fit with the sentence if you want to mean "because".

You're right. But from the point of view of giving this as a grammar exercise (to my students), I would normally accept any answer that completes the sentence logically whatever the meaning.
