Yep..."nia" gets me, both because my Latin-influenced ear hears the "a" and thinks "feminine" and because Máiréad Ní Mhaonaigh has a daughter named "Nia."

It took me a long time to get my head around fan and fág. I was always mixing the two up.

Oh, and apparently it's a mortal sin to write "Clare" on a birthday card if your girlfriend's name is "Claire" :bash:
